Auto-update
The HummyTummy Desktop app notices when a new version is published and downloads and installs the update for you. You don’t have to look for a release or re-download it by hand — the app checks whether you’re on the latest version every time it launches.
Updates are published centrally, so every restaurant gets the same, latest version. That way all of your teams have the same features and fixes.
How it works
The app checks on launch
Every time you start HummyTummy Desktop, the app quietly checks whether a newer version than yours exists. This happens in the background and doesn’t interrupt your work.
You’re told when a newer version exists
If a new version is found, the app downloads it and, once it’s ready, asks whether you’d like to install it. The release notes summarize what changed in that update.
The update installs safely
The app verifies that the file it downloaded really is a genuine, unmodified, trusted package published by HummyTummy. If the check passes, the update installs; if anything looks wrong, nothing is installed and your current version stays exactly as it is.
An update only installs when the published package passes the security check. This way your app is never updated with an unverified file — the integrity of the software running your register and sales screen is protected.
When you’re already up to date
If you’re on the latest version, the app does nothing and opens normally. Even if you don’t see an “up to date” message, the check has still run quietly.
If no update arrives
If you know a new version was published but don’t see an update prompt:
- Fully close and reopen the app; the check runs on launch.
- Make sure you have an internet connection.
- If the problem persists, you can reinstall the app by hand with the latest package: Install & download.
